A Snapshot of Your Day
As the Global Head of Legacy Projects, Front End Engineering, you will be responsible for leading a team that supports service projects across the world. The team is responsible to for systems, package, and electrical support for Turbo Compressor service projects.
We are looking for a strategic, innovative and transformational leader, dedicated to shaping the future of Compression's products and solutions with a strong focus on driving decarbonization and digitalization in line with customer requirements and to strengthening our technical excellence. This role demands technological knowledge of and experience with our compressor packages to engineer and deliver purpose-built products for our traditional and emerging markets. In addition, this role requires a high level of collaboration in a Matrix organization within Engineering & Product Management but also with stakeholders outside such as operations, procurement and strategy
This role will report into the Global Head of Front-End Engineering within the Projects team of Engineering and Product Management Organization. This key role within the Compression business can be based on any main Compression location including Duisburg/DE, Houston/US, Olean/US, Pune/IN.
What a typical day might look like for you:
Grab a coffee or tea and talk with a sales manager about the best way to fit our package into an upcoming brownfield olefin project. Next, check in virtually with your team members working on a feasibility study document for a customer in the Middle East. Finally, walk around the office to coordinate with a bid manager and see what else is happening within Siemens Energy!

How You'll Make an Impact
- You lead the Legacy Projects team within Front End Engineering and are responsible for technical bid support of service packages.
- You ensure high quality technical decision making, on time delivery, and the team's development
- You align and network with the Core Compressor as well as Controls Engineering teams for overall bid support towards the sales team
- You communicate with various internal stakeholders, balancing study work and bid support
- You develop synergies with the other Front End Engineering teams to ensure developments and processes are implemented in Brownfield projects
- You develop growth plans for team members with critical knowledge beyond own team by utilization of the Siemens Energy Expert network as well as Project Execution teams
- You address lessons learned and product integrity issues in the ongoing bids
- You continuously improve engineering efficiency and bid response time
- The foundation of your success is a degree in engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in systems design for service applications
- You are experienced in packaging motor driven compressor packages in brownfield applications
- You have knowledge of feasibility studies as it applies to integrating turbo-compressor products into an existing client application
- You have experience in leading the technical discussion and personally designing solutions for implementing turbo-compressor packages into clients' infrastructure
- You possess strong analytical skills and are adept at managing change to develop and effectively implement strategic plans.
- You possess fluent English language skills. Additional languages are an advantage
- You are willing to travel internationally
