Assistant Controller

K2 Integrity is seeking an Assistant Controller who will report to the Global Controller. This role will be hybrid out of the New York City office. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for various activities in corporate accounting for the firm’s US offices. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with a solid understanding of accounting principles and familiarity with general ledger maintenance. Below is a list of responsibilities for this role (note the list may not be comprehensive).

Responsibilities: 
  • Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations and account analysis/reconciliations during the month end close.
  • Support the Global Controller with oversight of the accounts payable team (i.e. review voucher entry and pay runs for accuracy, oversee vendor onboarding).
  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries.
  • Maintain fixed asset and prepaid expense schedules – calculating monthly depreciation and amortization and recording/reviewing monthly journal entries.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly sales tax returns, excise tax and commercial rent tax.
  • Responsible for some treasury functions (i.e. review daily cash balances).
  • Monthly preparation of reports for foreign accountants to maintain compliance in those countries.
  • Assist with annual financial statement audit.
  • Assist with the preparation of the workpapers for outside tax teams.
  • Prepare quarterly unaudited financial statements.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses and reports upon request.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, with a minimum GPA of 3.4 in major and overall required.
  • Minimum eight years of accounting experience in a professional services firm.
  • Knowledge of Elite 3E accounting system preferred.
  • CPA license preferred.
  • Intermediate experience with Excel and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.

Minimum Salary: $120,000 | Maximum Salary: $160,000
