We are seeking an Asphalt Quality Control Executive in St. Louis, MO with MODOT testing experience to ensure that the materials used in asphalt production meet industry standards and project specifications. This role involves designing, sampling, testing, analyzing data, and monitoring production processes to maintain the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Mix Designs:
- Design asphalt mixes in the lab and submit them to DOT for approval
- Modify and create designs regularly
- Collect samples of asphalt, aggregate, and other materials from various stages of production.
- Perform laboratory tests to determine density, moisture content, gradation, and asphalt content properties.
- Use equipment such as sieves, ovens, scales, and other testing devices accurately.
- Work with laydown crews utilizing density gauge to ensure proper compaction and rolling patterns on job sites as needed
- Analyze test results to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Record and interpret test data, identifying trends and potential issues.
- Monitor the asphalt production process to ensure consistency and adherence to quality standards.
- Identify deviations from standards and initiate corrective actions as needed.
- Work with production teams to implement quality improvement measures.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of tests, inspections, and quality control activities.
- Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing test results and quality control findings.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure all testing and quality control procedures comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Stay updated on industry standards, technological advancements, and best practices in asphalt quality control.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
