Inventory Control Specialist

Summary/Purpose of the Position:
Hisco, a division of TestEquity, is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist who works cross-functionally with many departments within the organization and effectively communicates with the Warehouse, Purchasing, Sales, and Finance teams to ensure inventory accuracy and proper procedures are being followed. This role will be reliable and professional with excellent record-keeping and investigative abilities while having a strong attention to detail and a solid business acumen.
Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:
- Manages inventory and production reports through WMS, WEBUI and BI for efficiency improvement opportunities to ensure inventory accuracy
- Oversight of physical inventory SOPs which include cycle counting, expiration, damaged inventory, inventory write-offs and unavailable inventory
- Research and resolution of inventory discrepancies
- Oversees daily inventory audits of receiving (journal reviews)
- Sox audits with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance
- Work closely with Procurement on vendor product returns
- Oversees the unavailable inventory in WEBUI
- Manage daily reconciliation and inventory adjustments
- Maintains inventory by making adjustments in CSD
- Assist departments outside of the Inventory Control Team when necessary to achieve operational goals
- Work with internal departments to ensure inventory discrepancies and order-related errors are resolved quickly
- Ensure proper layout and configuration of A and B products in the warehouse
- Inventory integrity between TWL and WEBUI
- Developing and implementing lean strategies for inventory control systems and practices
- Participate in reviews of standard operating procedures to ensure maximum efficiency
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 4+ years hands-on experience in a distribution environment
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Aptitude to analyze and interpret data from a variety of sources and to derive correlations from that data
- International Shipping Experience is a plus
- Hazardous Material certification and/or ability to attain certification in a short period of time
- Lean Distribution experience
- Passionate: Has a passion for making improvements and getting things accomplished
- Understanding of Lean methodologies is a plus
- Excellent written/verbal skills required ; Ability to read and write in English is required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions in accordance with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
- Ability to maintain regular and timely attendance in accordance with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local regulations
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. when necessary
