Scion Nonprofit has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced Controller for our client, a wonderful Nonprofit organization that serves families and communities in South Florida! Based in Pembrook Park, FL, the Controller will oversee day to day financial operations; develop policies, procedures and controls; and provide strategic financial support while working with leadership on decision making, budgets and financial planning. The right candidate will have the ability to jump in where needed to keep daily operations moving, while working with the VP of Finance on strategic issues. This is a full time, direct hire, onsite role.

- Compensation range is $90-100k, depending on experience
What you will be doing:
- Manages all accounting functions including financial statements and reports (monthly, quarterly, annually); as well as month and year end closings while ensuring compliance with nonprofit regulatory requirements.
- Assist with preparing and managing forecasts and company/department budgets
- Oversee day to day operations including AP, AR, reconciliation, grants accounting/reporting, and adherence to GAAP.
- Develop, implement and maintain internal controls for accurate, secure, and compliant financial reports
- Develop, implement, and enhance accounting and finance policies; identify and implement new procedures for efficiency and accuracy of financial operations and reporting
- Ensure organization is prepared for audits with documentation, procedure, and policy; work with external auditors on internal/external audits.
What you will need:
- Senior level (7-10 years+) accounting experience with at least 3 in a leadership role
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Current CPA certification is a plus
- Experience in a nonprofit environment with a high level of experience in grants accounting and documentation
- GAAP, reporting, internal controls, and accounting principals expertise
- Knowledge of risk management and insurance
- Excellent problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills
