If it is not a Vitamix, it’s just a blender.Vitamix is seeking a Director Ecommerce Sales (Amazon & DTC) who will be responsible for building a fully focused Sales and Ecommerce team and finding new and creative ways to connect with our consumers anytime, anywhere, and from any device. They will be a leader within the Marketing & Sales organization and will be responsible for driving growth for the digital experience and e-commerce sales. This will involve building a robust and holistic approach to all digital activity. The successful candidate will be accountable for creating and leading a digital strategy that creates brand love and ultimately drives to conversion and engagement. They will utilize consumer, market and digital insights to adapt to new and emerging trends within the category. The Director will be responsible for designing, leading, and implementing the strategic direction of the Amazon and Walmart accounts in alignment with our goals and objectives to drive sales velocity, improve profitability and expand brand awareness. They will understand how to drive e-commerce sales and the needs of the Amazon and Walmart accounts to continually optimize and ensure a mutually beneficial relationship that maintains Vitamix’s premium blending leadership position in the market. The ideal candidate will be collaborative with other leaders in the Marketing & Sales organization and work towards a holistic growth plan across the brand.Duties & Responsibilities:E-commerce Strategy and P&L OwnershipDemonstrates accountability for managing full P&L for Amazon and DTC in collaboration with key internal partners. Drives the implementation of initiatives to accelerate the business.Develops, executes, and communicates short and long term sales plans that drive revenue and profitability growth in support of organization strategy and objectives.Provides detailed and accurate sales forecasts based on POS and data-driven assumptions to Planning and Operations.Manages and effectively grows account profitability. Owns the direct relationship with the Amazon US and Canada Vendor Managers and Walmart.com Account Managers.Understands industry trends and customer, market, and competitor activity. Creates and adapts JBP and internal strategy plans in a complicated retail marketplace that align with Vitamix’s vision and strategy while also minimizing channel tension.Develops and leads a strategic planning process that prioritizes key areas of E-Commerce growth and capitalizes on new and emerging areas of development.Owns the account negotiations internally and tracks the ongoing volume forecast at Amazon and Vitamix.comBuilds partnerships with the Amazon and Walmart.com Sales & Marketing team members and fosters mutual internal team alignment.Works with sales support teams and demand planning teams on supply management and manage internal and external expectations around key issues that may arise.Clearly communicates both positive and negative progress frequently to leadership and report out on findings in Monthly Operating Review (MOR). Creates opportunities to coordinate meetings to ensure we stay aligned with strategy of the customers.Translates Vitamix’s brand vision to the online channel and execute strategies that help build a stronger relationship with core consumers and customers.DTC/E-commerceGrows DTC business by outlining key initiatives for growth and the optimal digital experience on Vitamix.com.Manages current e-commerce selling activities and assesses new online channels of distribution for brand and consumer fit.Develops and maintains a detailed understanding of the Vitamix product launch calendar, including new product introductions, promotions, and other marketing programs.Deploys channel management and oversees promotional calendar to create profitable e-commerce business across Vitamix.com, Amazon/PurePlay, 3P/Retailer.com, and other direct selling channels.Leads and manages the Vitamix SEO and on-site search strategy. Share best practices with regions for local implementation. Evaluate all areas of search including all retail partner initiatives.Leverages CRM platform to drive digital personalization within email, SMS and on Vitamix.com.Consumer Engagement and Relationship BrandingLeads consumer acquisition across the brand and develops and execute strategies across all markets.Enhances Vitamix.com as a destination for our consumers and build communities to engage and target our most raving fans.Partner with the social media team to build effective relationships with our affiliate partners and influencers to execute brand and online strategies that feed into all commercial activities.Enhances the digital content process and identify key priorities and areas of focus. Enhances the current content calendar process and drive for best-in-class results to meet consumers’ needs.Partners with Marketing on e-commerce’s specific needs including samples, online exclusives, brand site differentiation, and promotional elements.User Experience Defines architecture, infrastructure, and operational requirements to fulfill e-commerce and digital business strategy.Identifies and assesses current platforms and tools; provides recommendations on go forward plans that align with strategy and lead to meeting desired end state.Partners with Operations, Marketing, and Customer Service teams to ensure a seamless and positive customer experience.OtherBuilds talent and develops high performing and motivated teams to carry out the strategic plan; identifies successors for key positions; provides coaching, mentoring, and ongoing feedback to improve individual, team and functional performance.The ideal candidate will also possess:Alignment with Vitamix’s culture and Guiding Principles which defines its Purpose, Mission, and Values.Expertise around Vitamix competencies: Strategic Vision, Business Acumen, Critical Thinking, Leads for High Performance, Creativity, Accountability, PrioritizationProficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and ExcelHave a passion for digital trends and bring that passion to our brands in the work environment.Ability to translate brand vision to the online channel and execute strategies that lead the company consistently towards that vision.Experience selecting, scoping, and managing agencies and consultants including instituting formal measurement metrics.Proven success in executing a comprehensive category strategy that is integrated across multiple consumer touch points.Experience with an international brand and an understanding of differences between countries and cultures, especially as it relates to bringing projects to life in multiple markets.Demonstrated success/ability working in a matrixed environment.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proven ability to work on and lead a cross-functional team.Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field requiredMBA preferred15+ years related experience, specifically in e-commerce and digital marketing.8+ years leadership experience managing direct reports, including building an organization.Experience at a best-in-class, consumer centric brand; durable consumer packaged goods or housewares experience is a plus.Experience managing Amazon 1P and/or 3P accounts is required.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
