Apple is seeking an expert engineering program management leader to join the Apple Service Engineering (ASE) organization. You will lead a team of technical program managers who thrive in a fast-paced workplace where drive and team collaboration are the keys to success.

The Service Reliability Engineering (SRE) team is responsible for service infrastructure that ensures our customers’ perfect experience. You will partner with the SRE leaders and work with your Engineering Program Manager (EPM) team in order to define, prioritize, plan, and deliver the project portfolio of technical, infrastructure, and system needs that make Apple, Apple. The projects range from deploying end to end infrastructure environments, help support feature launches, hardware deployments, decommissions, complex system changes, tech refreshes, data migrations, service outage remediation, CapEx planning, as well as continually striving to scale and mature operations and operational standard methodologies.

Additionally, this leadership role supports the development of process improvement and standard operating procedures, in order to achieve required maturity and effectiveness, all while leading and growing teams of extraordinary project managers.
Systems within this scope are complex, so you will not only be expected to be able to readily understand complicated and subtle interdependencies, but also to evaluate new requests and new information in light of how it affects or is affected by those systems. Being able to think on your feet is important, as is the ability to efficiently debate the validity of a given approach to any aspect of a project under your control. You have strong social and interpersonal skills.

Key to your success will be the need to act as a business product thought problem solver on applicable domains, analyzing business risks, needs and requirements, participating and representing as the need arises in problem solving and design of engineering discussions.
You'll need a strong background in engineering program & project management complemented by your technical abilities. Minimum Qualifications5+ years of experience managing technical / engineering program managers, and leading highly efficient & impactful teams10+ years experience in software development project management for Site Reliability Engineering / DevOps / Infrastructure domainsA history of leadership, decision making, negotiation skills, and ability to influence partners without direct authorityExperience leading large scale Infrastructure programs with focus on Cloud environmentsExceptional organizational & engineering project management skills, with deep technical acumenExperience prioritizing features, and leading & presenting technical roadmapsSelf-motivated and proactive with validated creative and critical thinking capabilitiesStrong analytical, and problem-solving skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills to represent at all levels of the organizationPreferred QualificationsExperience with Kubernetes is highly desirableAgile project experience with ability to demonstrate knowledge of SCRUM methodologies and/or played the role of a Scrum Master is plusAbility to handle & deliver multiple simultaneous end-to-end infrastructure projects, partnering with communities comprising of various engineering teams and their extended technical teamsExperience delivering end-to-end projects; building roadmaps through to operational sustainabilityStrong facilitation skills (requirements gathering sessions, design meetings, progress and status meetings)Bachelors degree in Computer Science / Engineering, or equivalent experiencePay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $173,100 and $301,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
