As a Category Supplier Manager Intern, you will be responsible for developing a category strategy for led categories, validating strategies with Global and Regional Category Managers/s and the respective internal partners and team members. You will be conducting strategic sourcing initiatives, plan and complete negotiations using supplier and industry analysis, benchmark and cost management. By handling the category strategy, you will also be building positive relationships with internal collaborators, driving outstanding results in terms of cost, supply, and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

Category Management & Strategic Sourcing

  • Participate in supplier segmentation and strategic goal-setting.

  • Develop category strategies for managed categories and validate strategies with Global and Regional Category Managers/s and internal partners.

  • Recommend resource levels across procurement sourcing categories, projects and functions.

  • Implement processes to supervise collaborator happiness with key suppliers.

  • Recommend targets to improve value, such as growing revenue, reducing spend, improving purchasing efficiency, improving customer services, and managing suppliers.

Cost Management & Analysis

  • Identify and evaluate category-specific savings/revenue levers

  • Drive category savings/revenue and scorecard metric targets

  • Provide market intelligence and category price trends to relevant internal partners

  • Utilize should-cost models for assigned categories that are benchmarked and relevant to the global marketplace

Negotiation

  • Lead or participate in negotiations for contract extensions and renewals, renegotiation of prices, transfers, etc

  • Lead sourcing events/RFQ process into bundled negotiation

  • Incorporate savings targets and contract requirements into negotiations

  • Develop a contract strategy for suppliers in assigned categories and create, negotiate, supervise and enforce contracted terms and conditions

  • Conduct strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiations, and cost management using supplier and industry analysis.

Business Partnering

  • Collaborate with Partners to Deliver Strategic Solutions

  • Develop and maintain expertise in the assigned spend categories through relationships with key partners

  • Drive customer-centric approach to solving issues and representing Procurement

  • Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships to enhance cost-effectiveness, supply chain efficiency, and resilience.

Requirements:

  • A relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • Proven applicable experience in category management and strategic sourcing.

  • Strong negotiating and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to effectively manage relationships with various individuals involved.

  • Sophisticated skills in material cost structure understanding and analysis

  • Graduating after September 2025
