As an intern in the Inbound Supply Management team at Micron, you will work with a team of Supply Managers responsible for maintaining Micron’s inventory supply. You will primarily be responsible for maintaining the availability and continuity of supply and implementing a thorough inventory management strategy. You will collaborate with suppliers and collaborators in resolving inventory supply shortages and identifying root-cause to prevent future shortages. You will be part of a distributed team dedicated to achieving timely delivery, reducing waste, and driving ongoing improvements in global parts & materials inventory management.
Responsibilities:

Monitor and adjust global inventory to effectively support manufacturing and minimize waste. This includes safety stock (SS), reorder point (ROP) and lead time maintenance as well as part/material obsolescence management.

Respond to inventory stock-out issues and resolve root cause.

Manage inventory scheduling and delivery and make order adjustments with suppliers as necessary due to scheduling or availability changes.

Increase attention to and resolve delivery issues promptly to uphold continuous supply.

Enable and support automation of procurement processes and metrics.

Collaborate with team members to track performance using identified key process indicators, with a focus on identifying root causes and taking necessary actions.

Protect Micron by investigating forecast disconnects, and support business partners in resolving to meet demand volume and timing, limiting negative impacts to manufacturing

Drive customer-centric approach to solving issues and positively representing Procurement.

Ensure partner requirements are met and sustain effective communication with internal and external partners.

Ensure department compliance to company policies and departmental procedures.

Provide input to leadership on the building and implementing of department strategies, processes, and policy through active participation on teams and projects.

Work with direct and cross-functional teams to implement and complete global strategic direction in supply fulfillment and inventory management.

Communicate global materials inventory status, trends, and results to all pertinent partners.
Minimum Requirement:

Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management.

Must be a current student, graduating after September 2024.
