Office Experience Manager
NFX, San Francisco, CA
NFX is creating the venture firm that today's top Founders deserve. We're a team that's mission driven & operates like a startup software company, supporting a network of industry changers fast-tracked with powerful software + rare know-how.
We move with speed, agility, and a keen sense for high touch and high value activity, and we feel pride in making sure that every interaction with NFX, regardless of who, what, or where one may be, leaves an impression. The role of Office Experience Manager plays the key role in this endeavor, so if you're a bit of a social butterfly, have a proclivity towards keeping an organized house, and are known for your joie de vivre, we would simply love to meet you!
We're growing the team & culture and can't do it without this role. Do you want to be part of building something amazing?
We're a tight knit team based in Hayes Valley, and we're on the hunt for a fast-moving, fun loving, high energy Office Experience Manager to join the crew!
If you can already see yourself on this page - (https://www.nfx.com/team) - and you're grinning because it seems like we're describing you, then let's talk.
You're friendly & outgoing. You know this about yourself, and your self-awareness about being extroverted has been reinforced by others your whole life. You're responsive, love to help others, & treat everyone with respect...the 'golden rule' matters to you.
You're a People Person. You get energized by chatting with people. Whether dinner or dance, parties excite you. Once there, you roll from conversation to conversation without missing a beat. You intuitively pick up on social cues and tend to find commonalities with others regardless of different backgrounds or beliefs. Inclusivity is your comfort zone.
You know how to curate a delightful experience. Your friends are always eager to RSVP yes to your invites because your events are memorable. You know that getting the details right matters. You cherish the holidays...all of them, because you get to show off your creative spirit, both at home and in the office.
You multitask. Period. Anything less is unthinkable. Yes, you prioritize requests like a pro, but rarely get overwhelmed by multiple tasks or projects, and pride yourself on being organized.
You hustle. You've got grit, act with purpose, and love moving fast. Life's too short to do anything short of your best. You're self motivated and work best with limited direction...once you understand the goal, your initiative kicks in and magic happens.
You're curious by nature. You absolutely love to learn about new people, places, & ideas. Any opportunity to tackle a project that's outside of your wheelhouse is a highlight in your day. You roll up your sleeves and fill in whenever and wherever you can to simply add value.
Ideally, you have some experience managing an office space and hosting events. We're thinking at least 3 years in a similar role will do it, but the right person is way more important than years of experience.
The role is going to be fluid by nature, but you should anticipate:
Creating memorable experiences for our team and guests; everything from onboarding new hires, managing branded merchandise, organizing team gatherings & always looking for ways to create a positive, uplifting, friendly office atmosphere.
The employee experience starts really during interviews. Your role is critical to making that experience the best it can be. To do this, you'll be the go to person and resident expert on all things scheduling. Our ATS is Greenhouse - working knowledge of this is a bonus.
Making an art out of greeting guests, by consistently applying your energy, friendliness, and instincts for making folks feel at home
Collaborating on projects and a variety of tasks that will not be limited to new employee onboarding, office maintenance and supply ordering, vendor management, & support of internal teams. To accomplish some of these tasks, you'll need to be ok lifting up to 40 pounds. Not often, but with office management comes furniture, supplies, and mail delivery.
Assisting with events during business & after-business hours. This includes but is not limited to buzzing guests into the building, AV, set-up & tear down. We're pretty big on events - as a key member of the office operations team, you'll be asked to handle logistics and ordering more often than not.
Handling all aspects of the building maintenance, management, and security which includes knowing who to call when things go sideways, managing existing vendors professionally and responsibly, and knowing that alarms go off at all the wrong times (think 2AM) and you'll be on point to respond.
You should know Google Suite, scheduling, and be really comfortable with technology in general (especially Mac based) - we have everything from Zoom, Slack, podcasting, and large format speaking events to tackle - the more you instinctively know about technology, the better.
NFX has adopted a hybrid office model. Most local employees work in the office three days per week. However, we anticipate you will be in the office five days a week.
NFX is a killer team and organization and we're taken care of. You should expect:
