The Market Segment Manager - Motive/Material Handling role develops and manages marketing strategies for the assigned global markets with the goal of sustained revenue & profit growth. This position is responsible for developing and deploying marketing strategies for the sales of existing products and the development of new products into assigned global market segments. Responsibilities include competitive positioning, pricing policy, revenue and market share growth, managing multi-national customer relationships, brand reputation, and product roadmaps. This position reports to the Global Product & Marketing Manager.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Primary goal is to grow sales revenue and profitability in assigned markets.
  • Responsible for profitability and revenue within assigned markets.
  • Gather global data, monitor competitive activity, analyze market trends, develop and refine competitive pricing structures.
  • Identify qualified opportunities for legacy, new and custom power connectors, assisting APP engineering as well as customer engineers and other project staff during all phases of the sales cycle to deliver these products.
  • Manage and coordinate new product programs. Drive completion of projects to meet market requirements.
  • Develop and maintain technology roadmap for assigned markets. Identify legacy power connectors and applications. Using industry trends provide predictive analysis of future power connector needs.
  • Manage engagement of APP sales associates and Independent Sales Representatives with matrix organized global accounts, their affiliates and subcontractors within assigned markets.
  • Research and recommend product launch strategy and plan to support pricing, training, promotion, presentations, and sales training, etc.
  • Works closely with marketing team to execute product positioning strategies.
  • Develop and deliver product training presentations to regional sales managers, customers and channel partners.
  • Liaise with APP associates, customers and prospects to accomplish objectives and partner with sales force to achieve sales goals.
  • Act as primary resource for technical and commercial questions and applications inquiries from assigned markets.
  • Works closely with sales, sales support and operations to meet sales and profit goals.
  • Champions the new business opportunity process for assigned markets.
  • Works with Sales to identify accounts, decision makers, action items and timing necessary to exceed business objectives for the product lines responsible market segments.
  • Participate as a member of a Project Team and/or Cross-Functional team as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned


Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or other related field, (AND) 2 or more years of product management / business strategy development experience in a business-to-business (B2B) environment; (OR) an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be willing to travel domestically & internationally up to 20% of the time.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Prior B2B experience developing and implementing growth strategies.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and analytical skills; Evidence of strategic thinking and putting together product roadmap.
  • Attention to details.
  • Ability to quickly learn and demonstrate proficiency with technical information & business processes.
  • Excellent written / verbal / interpersonal communications.
  • Committed to driving for results and a sense of urgency.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with differing personalities at all levels.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.
  • Experience with ERP, CRM, & CMS software is preferred.
  • Moderate level of mechanical aptitude is also preferred
