AUGUSTA VA HEALTHCARE CENTER

The Augusta VA Healthcare Center  is a level 1b, medical school affiliated, two-division Medical Center that provides tertiary care in Medicine, Surgery, Specialty Care, Neurology, Psychiatry, Physical Medicine and Rehab, Primary Care, Geriatrics, and a dedicated Spinal Cord Institute serving a multi-state catchment area. The Medical Center is affiliated with the Augusta University [AU], in Augusta, GA and the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical center, integrating clinical care, teaching, and research, making it an attractive academic and research Medical Center.

The Augusta VA Healthcare Center is located in Augusta Georgia is searching for a  BC/BE Internal/Family Medicine Physician  to join their dynamic interdisciplinary style patient aligned healthcare team.  Provide care to 10-14 Adult M/F patients per day managing a panel size of 1200.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnostic work-up and clinic intervention, including comprehensive patient assessment, health history, physical examination, and patient education to Veterans in the Primary Care team setting.
  • Works collaboratively with other health care professionals to accomplish patient, service, and medical center goals, promoting and embracing the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model of care, utilizing Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, Excellence (ICARE) values throughout the clinic.
  • Distinguish between normal and abnormal findings to establish a diagnosis and initiate appropriate response to emergency health problems.
  • Order and evaluate diagnostic tests as appropriate, recommend treatment and/or referral.
  • Initiate appropriate referrals and consultations to other clinical services.
  • Initiate, evaluate, and change orders for medications.
  • Follow Performance Measure guidelines, including completion of clinical reminders; access and timeliness standards; prescription order entry, National VA formulary Requirements, and customer service standards.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in responding to clinic demands, adhere to personal and professional obligations and responsibilities.
  • Practice and maintain ethical standards, and sustain a work environment that is harmonious and customer service oriented.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
