Are you looking for an opportunity to build a First Line Defense program and team for a growing financial institution? Our client is seeking a Managing Director to implement a First Line Risk & Controls function for their Accounting, Reporting, and FP&A functions. This is a high-profile position charged with building and implementing a top-notch risk & controls program, working closely with all stakeholders, executives, and regulators. You will be managing and supporting RCSA execution; supporting development and monitoring of KRIs and metrics at the Board, Management, and First Line Unit level; supporting governance, policy, and procedure alignment across Finance; leading issue identification and management for Accounting/Reporting and FP&A processes; and serving as liaison with auditors and regulators through examinations. You will work closely with Financial Risk Management and SOX teams through execution of risk management activities. Job Title: Managing Director of Finance – First Line Risk – Financial Reporting & FP&A Location: Stamford, CT (Hybrid) Salary: $180,000 – $200,000 Plus Bonus & LTIWhat are people saying about this company? -Excellent management, fair goals, team oriented -Great place to work and learn!Key responsibilities: • Lead Accounting and FP&A Risk Control Self Assessments (RCSA), including process definition, risk and control identification, and issue identification • Develop and lead testing function for key controls • Lead Issue Management process for Accounting and FP&A -related issues (audit, regulatory, self-identified) and ensure remediation plans are appropriate and timely address related risks and control gaps • Develop reporting to Accounting and FP&A leadership on risk management activities • Support KRI/metric development, monitoring and reporting for Board, Management and First Line Unit (FLU) levels • Serve as liaison for audits and examinations, and interface with regulators Qualifications • BS in Accounting or Finance. A Master’s Degree is preferred • CPA, CIA, CISA, or other related certifcations are highly desirable. • Approximately 10 – 15 years in a Big 4 or banking risks & controls function (operational risk management, enterprise risk management, audit/SOX, first-line risk management) • Substantial Accounting, Reporting, FP&A experience in the banking environment, including Regulatory Reporting, Tax Compliance, and Budgeting and Forecasting • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building, and presentation skills required
