As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems infrastructure to meet the organization's technological needs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation and optimization of our systems, while also providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in systems engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain complex systems infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and virtualization technologiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, assess system needs, and develop solutions that align with business objectivesPerform system analysis, capacity planning, and performance tuning to ensure optimal system performance and reliabilityTroubleshoot and resolve complex system issues, including hardware, software, and network problemsDevelop and maintain system documentation, including system configurations, processes, and proceduresProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and developmentStay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and make recommendations for system enhancements and improvementsCollaborate with vendors and third-party providers to evaluate and implement new technologies and solutions.Participate in on-call rotation and provide support for system emergencies and critical incidentsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent experience. Master's degree is a plusProven experience as a Systems Engineer, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior or lead roleStrong knowledge of systems engineering principles, methodologies, and best practicesProficiency in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and virtualization technologiesExperience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)Solid understanding of networking protocols, security principles, and disaster recovery strategiesExcellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex system issuesStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teamsAbility to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlinesRelevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, VMware Certified Professional) are a plusThe United States targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:• San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $128,000 to $211,000 per year• California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $119,000 to $196,000 per year• Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $108,000 to $178,000 per yearOur pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
