DescriptionAs the manager of the Core IO Systems Quality Engineering team you will help define validation strategies and create detailed test plans for validating software to support IO technologies on Apple platforms, overseeing the execution of these test plans and the analysis of results. You will recruit and lead quality/test engineers who are responsible for testing efforts across shipping and in-development systems; and who support the team’s test efforts at offshore facilities: triaging, investigating, debugging, and reporting issues. The role will require you to work closely with cross functional development and quality teams, building strong relationships with other teams in CoreOS, Software Engineering, and Product Integrity.
Minimum Qualifications5+ years of experience with system hardware or software validation, some of which has been in a team lead positionExcellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at reporting and presenting system and feature quality status to a variety of cross-functional audiences.Proven ability to work independently and demonstrate cross-functional leadership with good project/time management skills.Solid programming fundamentals, in languages such as Python or similar languagesBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related fieldPreferred QualificationsAbility to co-ordinate and drive Quality Engineering projects by planning and managing test execution with offshore testers, including in-depth issue triage and debug.Proven ability to ramp up quickly on both new and existing standards based technologies. Familiarity with IO technologies such as USB, Thunderbolt or DisplayPort/HDMI is highly desirablePractical scripting experience with scenarios such as triaging and routing issues, extracting, manipulating data or streamlining workflows and test automation.Familiarity with data visualization, trend analysis and report creation using tools such as TableauWillingness and ability to travel between sitesAbility to communicate with native Mandarin-Chinese speakers to aid collaboration with offshore teams is a plusFamiliarity with C programming will be an assetPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,000 and $272,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
