Here, you’ll do more than join something — you’ll add something The Software Updates Quality Engineering team within Apple's Core OS organization is looking for a results-oriented leader with strong technical and interpersonal skills to lead a team of quality engineers for OS updates validation that impact over billion devices in field. The person in this role will work closely with Engineering, other QA and cross-functional managers on delivering the highest quality experience for all Apple products! The nature of the position requires the candidate to have excellent communication skills, strong technical and debugging skills, along with a drive to make a difference. You will be working in a fast paced environment, interacting directly with software development team and other QA teams cross functionally. As a member of our dynamic group, you will have the unique opportunity to be part of validating our OS install, restore, update, recovery and associated components. You will be responsible for ensuring features and performance are maintained at the highest standard.DescriptionCore Responsibilities Include: Manage a small team of Development Engineers in Test Develop, modify, automate complete test strategies, plans, and programs Coordinate and optimize testing in a multi-functional environment co-ordinating with multiple locations Drive quality initiatives for areas of responsibility Actively participate in testing the work you're doingMinimum Qualifications5+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer in Test or Software Quality Engineer.3+ years as a Software Quality Engineering Manager.Deep understanding of SQA methodologies, processes, tools and CI/CD pipelines.Proficiency in Python or other scripting language.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.BS in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent.Preferred QualificationsExperience working in tools, automation frameworksExperience working in other languages like C, Obj C is a plus along with iOS, macOS or Unix/Linux.Passion to recruit, manage and develop high-performance engineering teams.Detail oriented, analytical, and creative problem solver with passion for quality processes.Comfortable working in a constantly evolving and dynamic environment and driving top issues to resolution.Ability to empower teams to achieve exciting yet attainable goals.Telemetry/DataAnalysis experience with Splunk or similar toolsFamiliarity with Source Control Management such as svn or gitPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,000 and $272,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
