HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY: The HR Manager is responsible for the overall management and direction of the Human Resources function. This role oversees the HR team and is accountable for the tactical day-to-day operations of all HR functional areas. A strong background in HR compliance is essential.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Collaborate with VP of HR to develop and execute HR strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Provides support and guidance to HR generalists, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the HR department.
- Oversee the recruitment, selection, and onboarding process.
- Foster a positive work environment by managing employee relations, resolving conflicts, and working with managers as needed.
- Oversee the compensation and benefits programs, ensuring compliance with regulations and market competitiveness.
- Oversee the employee performance evaluation program.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of employment law and regulations.
- Ensure compliance through audits, training, and policy development.
- Oversee the management of the HRIS systems and data, oversee recordkeeping, and streamline HR processes for efficiency.
- Provide leadership and development to direct reports, delegating tasks, and responsibilities effectively.
- Maintain affirmative action program: file EEO-1 annually, maintain other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
- Maintain department records and reports; recommend innovative approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and innovative technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related field OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training.
- Five (5) years of experience in Human Resources Management.
- PHR or SHRM certification or ability to receive within year of hire.
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Alaska Native Corporations.
- Experience with UltiPro, known as UKG.
- Prior supervisory experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
