About the Position This position is responsible for supporting Goodyear’s Off-The-Road tire business needs by testing using department tools, procedures, and processes. Location: San Angelo Proving Grounds, 11570 N, N US Hwy 277, San Angelo, TX 76905 Primary Responsibilities • Assist with set-up, completion, and reporting of tire tests. • Follow guidance of specific internal, tire industry, and regulatory testing standards in daily work. • Support and assist in evaluating tools, equipment, and processes as directed. • Learn GPG test capabilities, purpose, and limitations in areas of primary operations. • Learn and apply inspection methods, nomenclature, and test processes as directed. • Support work within the Team to address test related issues. • Participate in and assist with shows, demos, marketing, and testing events • Support department in conducting and documenting process improvement, problem solving, Gage R&R, and new test development projects. • Adhere to daily schedule and use testing resources as directed. • Participate in initiative to foster Safety, Quality, and Values engagement. Required Education and Experience • High School diploma or GED required. Associates degree in STEM related field and/or professional certification desired. • 4+ years of experience in general industry, manufacturing, or technical with High School Diploma OR 1+ years of experience general industry, manufacturing, or technical with Associate Degree in relevant STEM field. Skills and Abilities • Basic critical analysis, problem-solving, and documentation skills. • Basic technical understanding (mechanical, electromechanical, automotive systems, metrology, etc.). • Basic comprehension of scientific method and test processes. • Basic comprehension of statistical design & analysis, cause & effect analysis & manufacturing processes. • Ability to carry out assignments in a logical fashion using existing technology & standardized methods. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Basic skills with ability to become proficient in Microsoft Office preferred.
