Program Description

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, headquartered in Akron, Ohio, is looking for talented leaders to significantly strengthen its global leadership depth and play an integral role in the current and future success of the organization. Students entering the Supply Chain Operations Internship will be placed in either North America, Latin America or Global Operations Supply Chain all based in the Global Headquarters in Akron, Ohio. Each intern will be assigned a project for the duration of the assignment. The goal of this internship is to provide interns working experience in a global company and exposure to Supply Chain Leadership. Assigned projects will be a “real life,” value added, business project that can tied back to classroom learning. Ultimately, this internship is designed to build competencies for potential future placement upon graduation into Goodyear’s full-time Development Program in North America.

In addition to challenging, engaging and interesting work assignments, students have the opportunity to meet and interact with students from other universities at work and outside of work. Tours of Goodyear facilities are arranged to help students learn more about the business. Goodyear leaders make presentations to help students begin to think about significant business issues and career options.

Requirements:

Minimum 3.0 overall GPA required

Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science or related field

Students entering their last year of their degree desired

Intellectual curiosity with a drive for root-cause analysis

Continuous Improvement mentality and problem-solving skills

Proven ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and accomplish goals simultaneously

Strong analytical and data management skills

Ability to thrive in a team environment

Strong interpersonal skills

An appreciation for diversity with interest in global experiences

Capable of interacting with all organization levels from entry level Associates to Senior Leadership Strong desire and motivation to develop a career in Supply Chain

Travel may be required and will vary by project
