As we expand our dedicated team, we are seeking a compassionate CASAC Counselor to join our team of holistic care professionals. Position Overview:
The CASAC Counselor will provide coordinated counseling services to clients under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Director. As part of a collaborative and interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for creating personalized treatment plans, facilitating therapy sessions, providing essential education, and supporting clients through their journey to recovery.
Starting hourly wage will be $30+
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Counseling: Provide clinical counseling services to clients, including initial assessments, treatment plans, and discharge planning in accordance with OASAS regulatory guidelines.
- Comprehensive Treatment Planning: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and update personalized treatment plans with a person-centered approach that includes relapse prevention, harm reduction, and opioid overdose prevention strategies.
- Holistic Therapy: Utilize motivational counseling and holistic treatment modalities in individual and group sessions to support clients in managing their addiction and mental health needs.
- Data Entry & Compliance: Complete assessments, enter progress notes, and maintain client records using Azzly and OASAS databases. Ensure all documentation complies with applicable regulations.
- Group Facilitation: Plan and facilitate group therapy sessions, focusing on topics like recovery skills, substance abuse education, and coping mechanisms.
- Crisis Management & Safety: Provide safe crisis management as necessary, while ensuring the security and integrity of the facility environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including healthcare providers, case managers, and treatment coordinators, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Program Support: Assist with managing facility rounds, clinic desk duties, and ensuring clients are adhering to program rules and treatment compliance.
- Education & Awareness: Regularly provide clients with substance abuse education, harm reduction techniques, and relapse prevention strategies.
- Aftercare Monitoring: Track progress in aftercare programs and provide ongoing support to clients after discharge.
Qualifications:
- Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) required.
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience working in a clinical or addiction treatment setting.
- Experience with holistic or integrative treatment methods (such as acupuncture, wellness coaching, etc.) is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of OASAS regulations and addiction treatment best practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate clients.
- Compassionate, empathetic, and patient-centered approach to counseling.
- Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and maintain professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and the ability to handle challenging situations in a calm, professional manner.
