Position Overview

As the Chef de Cuisine, you’ll lead Bon Fire’s kitchen team, bringing our Texas-meets-French concept to life. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring culinary expertise, creativity, and a passion for team building. You’ll collaborate with the Culinary Advisor and General Manager to craft an exceptional dining experience, from menu design to kitchen operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Menu Development & Execution:
    • Collaborate on designing an innovative menu that reflects our concept.
    • Ensure recipes are refined, dishes beautifully presented, and seasonal ingredients sourced locally.
  • Kitchen Leadership:
    • Manage, train, and motivate the kitchen team.
    • Oversee hiring, scheduling, and performance management, fostering a positive and professional environment.
  • Operations Management:
    • Handle inventory, ordering, and storage with a focus on efficiency and waste reduction.
    • Ensure the kitchen operates smoothly on a day-to-day basis.
  • Cost Control:
    • Track food and labor costs, meeting budgetary goals without compromising quality.
  • Standards Compliance:
    • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance with all regulations.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Monitor food preparation and presentation to ensure excellence in every dish.
    • Actively seek and act on feedback to enhance the dining experience.
  • Supplier Relations:
    • Build relationships with suppliers to source the freshest, highest-quality ingredients.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven success managing a high-volume kitchen while maintaining consistency and quality.
  • Leadership: A track record of motivating and developing a cohesive, high-performing team.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in scratch cooking, inventory management, and cost control. Knife skills and butchery experience are a plus.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to effectively manage kitchen operations.
  • Tech Proficiency: Familiarity with POS systems (Toast preferred) and general computer skills.
  • Health & Safety: Deep understanding of kitchen safety and sanitation practices.
  • Adaptability: Flexible and resilient under pressure, with availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
