We are seeking a highly skilled Indirect Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the indirect and Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) spend to support our national service centers and truck upfit operations at the Customer Service Center (CSC). This role will encompass facilities purchases, fostering relationships with existing partners, and identifying new vendors to streamline operations and enhance cost efficiency.
Estimated travel days/year: <10% to 3rd parties and other Hiab USA locations nationally
Main tasks and responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing and Procurement:
- Oversee procurement activities for indirect and MRO spend, ensuring alignment with company objectives
- Manage sourcing strategies to identify and engage with high quality vendors and suppliers
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and cost savings
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing partners to ensure service quality and operational efficiency
- Evaluate vendor performance and manage supplier relationships to foster long term partnerships
- Identify new suppliers and conduct market research to introduce competitive options
- Manage procurement for facilities purchases, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards
- Coordinate with cross functional teams to support facilities management needs and operations
- Collaborate with inventory control teams to optimize stock levels and minimize costs
- Implement best practices for MRO inventory management to support uninterrupted operations
- Utilize SAP for procurement and inventory management activities
- Maintain accurate records in SAP and generate reports for analysis and strategic planning
- Analyze spend data to identify cost saving opportunities
- Streamline procurement processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs
- Develop and implement continuous improvement strategies to support the company's growth objectives
Education:
- Minimum 2 Year degree in Sourcing/Procurement or similar field
- Proficiency in SAP is essential
- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills
