Position Description

As part of our Material Handler team, you'll work on cutting-edge equipment, collaborate across departments, and lead the way in cost reduction, optimizing manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities:
- Material Handling: Receive, store, and organize polymer materials in the designated storage areas. Utilize material handling equipment such as forklift and pallet jacks.
- Inventory and Inspection Management: Maintain accurate inventory records of polymer materials, tracking quantities, and lot numbers. Inspect polymer materials as needed for quality.
- Material Preparation: Prepare polymer materials for use in production process by measuring, weighing as required.
- Abide by Safety Protocols: Follow proper safety protocols while handling materials and operating equipment.
- Basic Office Software: Knowledge in basic office software such as excel, outlook and word will be used to create reports, document procedures and record keeping.
- Cross-Collaboration: Learn about the importance and how to interact with cross-functional teams, such as Inkjet Printers and Imaging, Technician, Leads, Pad Printing, Production Associates, and Engineering
- Abide by Quality Standards: Understand and follow Applied Medical's Quality Systems.
Within your first 30 days:
- Continuously achieve passing grades of 95% or higher in scheduled Applied Learning foundational courses, demonstrating rapid integration into company processes, while also acquiring proficiency in computer software, manufacturing instructions (MIs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Become familiar with the warehouse, importance of accurate packaging labels and where tools are kept.
- Learn how to verify quantities and availability of material and cycle count.
- Shadow experienced team members and trainers and observe the workflow. Learn about machine startups and how material is received from outside the warehouse.
- Learn how to read and interpret different shop order packets and required signatures and special requests via email.
- Begin to execute tasks more independently and resolving issues with less guidance.
- Complete training on forklifts as the role requires.
- Team member should have maintained comprehensive knowledge on what it takes to become a skilling Material Handling team member.
- High school graduate, General Education Development (GED), or work equivalent.
- Flexibility to work on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift within our Applied Medical Polymer Facilities.
- Ability to stand and work continuously for several hours at a time.
- Capability to occasionally lift objects weighing up to 50lbs.
- Knowledge of Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing (SAP).
- Self-sufficiency in completing tasks with minimal supervision.
- Read, write, and speak English.
- Understand and comply with safety rules and company policies. (Company handbook)
- At least one year of experience in a warehouse.
- Proficiency in collaborative teamwork and adept problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to quality control.
- Knowledge of trouble shooting equipment.
