Job Highlights

This position is responsible for driving the site to best-in-class environmental performance and continuous compliance with federal, state, and local regulations at the Charleston Site. Primary duties include but are not limited to:
  • Collaborate with HSSE team and Operations Units to ensure facility's environmental compliance with all Federal, State and Local regulations and internal Corporate Policies, including but not limited to Title V, RCRA, NPDES and SPCC.
  • Track key compliance metrics related to environmental topics and implement systems to improve performance including preparation and submittal of recurring periodic reports and emission/exceedance events in collaboration with HSSE Team.
  • Engage in site environmental issues, designing projects and programs to drive continuous improvement by fostering leadership commitment to improved programs, and by engaging employees and contractors to take responsibility for HSSE.
  • Participate in and/or lead Safety, health, Security initiatives on site to support daily operations, continuous compliance, and continuous improvement. Contribute to PSM program including as MOC, PSSR, PHA, etc by creating/participating in PSM topics as needed, providing guidance, insights and support to the site.
  • Responsible for working with operating teams and engineers regarding daily tasks and ongoing projects or studies related to HSSE. This includes data collection, input, and review as well as troubleshooting activities for environmental topics.


Requirements

  • This role requires an individual who has HSSE experience in a chemical manufacturing (or similar) setting, possesses Environmental regulatory knowledge, has permitting experience, technical expertise and continuous improvement leadership. This individual should be solution-based and enjoy technical hands-on work, working in diverse cross-functional teams, and collaborating with site technical, operations and maintenance personnel concerning environmental/HSSE related issues and improvements.
  • B.S. in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering or similar.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of occupational safety, environmental compliance, security, and waste handling requirements.
  • Works well with others in teams, with strong interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience leading projects and designing/implementing programs preferred.
