We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Scientist/Geologist to join our dynamic team. This role will combine technical expertise with project management and personnel management skills, providing you with an opportunity to lead projects and collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Be the senior manager on a portfolio of environmental projects. Supervise and mentor project managers and junior staff, and maintain client relationships.
-Oversee site assessments, remediation design and implementation, and ongoing monitoring.
-Ensure projects and clients maintain compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
-Review and analyze environmental data and complete final review of technical reports and budgets.
-Stay educated on changing regulations within the industry.
-Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, and other key stakeholders. Communicate project progress, risks, and resolutions effectively.
-Provide guidance and support to junior scientist, geologist, and project staff. Foster a collaborative work environment that promotes career development.
-Prepare proposals and estimates.
-Support miscellaneous projects.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
-Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental consulting, with at least 5 years in a project management role, ideally within the retail petroleum/UST sector.
-Experience in leading and managing environmental site assessments (Phase I/II), and environmental remediation projects.
-Strong knowledge of petroleum-related environmental issues, including UST systems, soil and groundwater contamination, and vapor intrusion.
-Knowledge of environmental regulatory frameworks and experience navigating complex environmental compliance issues.
-Professional certifications are a plus.
-Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
-Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
-Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to solving challenges.
