Leidos is seeking a software architect for the National Security Sector (NSS) software organization.
The individual will be responsible for driving technical standards across the Sector for all software development activities. The standards will include development patterns, technology stacks, development processes, and software development metrics. The successful candidate will work with Office of Technology (OOT) and Sector leaders to ensure consistent delivery of mission software across NSS.
Experience with software development programs supporting national security customers in a classified setting is required. The successful candidate will have a wide range of technical experience to include mission software development, secure software practices, software architecture, DevOps, cloud technologies, and software validation. This position requires a technical leader who can balance both tactical program needs and strategic technology vision for NSS.
Primary Responsibilities
• Work with the program teams, Line leadership, and CTO organization to identify software related technology and solution roadmaps to establish Leidos as a provider of choice for mission software across the National Security domain.
• Establish NSS best practices, lessons learned, and technological approaches for all aspects of software development across the Sector.
• Define and proactively evolve the "NSS Way" of software development that is applied to all programs and internal development efforts within the Sector.
• Ensure all software related proposals and programs are following the defined approaches or have documented and approved tailoring plans.
• Define a set of core software key performance indicators that will be required on all development activities.
• Support across business lines and programs to identify how programs can be strengthened with application of technology and/or innovation.
• Provide proposal and capture support as requested by capture teams.
Basic Qualifications
• Master's degree or Ph.D. and 15 years of experience in a Science, Engineering, or Technology field - Will consider experience in lieu of the degree requirements.
• Ability to gain a security clearance for a position of trust within the US government.
• Recent experience within the National Security domain (Intelligence Community, Homeland Security, or Department of Defense) with an understanding of those missions and operating environments.
• Experience supporting or leading proposal activities for National Security customers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact at multiple levels of the organization from program teams to Sector leadership.
• Ability to mentor, lead, and promote talent.
• Location: Washington Metropolitan Area preferred but remote also considered
Preferred Qualifications
• Scaled Agile Development experience.
• Member of the Leidos Solution Architect program
• Proven leader across the Software Development Lifecycle
• Experience implementing solutions for multiple customers.

Pay Range: Pay Range $144,300.00 - $260,850.00
