About the Role:
We're hiring a Community Manager to grow, nurture, and empower our community, both online and offline. You will define and execute our approach to community and events, thinking long-term, and leaning into our strengths: a beloved brand with users around the world. In your work, you'll cultivate a community of passionate power users who advocate for us and help recruit new users, collaborating with them to shape the product roadmap.

About the Role:
We're hiring a Community Manager to grow, nurture, and empower our community, both online and offline. You will define and execute our approach to community and events, thinking long-term, and leaning into our strengths: a beloved brand with users around the world. In your work, you'll cultivate a community of passionate power users who advocate for us and help recruit new users, collaborating with them to shape the product roadmap.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute our community strategy, investing in programs to nurture and empower our user base. Establish and monitor goals to track the success of our community initiatives, providing regular reporting and action plans.
- Form deep relationships with community members, learning user stories, and identifying users for case studies, press opportunities, social highlights, and events. Identify power users and uncover ways to activate them, helping us recruit new users.
- Establish and execute our plan for events, mapping out an annual calendar that includes virtual webinars, community meetups, hackathons, and even large-scale conferences, making sure every detail is accounted for. Expand how users are involved over time, mapping out a path towards user-hosted events.
- Manage and moderate all community platforms, ranging from internal forums like Discord, external forums like Reddit and Quora, and ad comments and review sites, making sure we're part of every Captions-related conversation happening online. Be creative in your approach, considering how we can be part of every video generation and editing conversation happening online.
- Collect and synthesize feedback from users, whether through scheduled conversations, forum feedback, or questions dropped into ad comments, and share out learnings weekly to relevant teams, like Product, to inform product improvements.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in community management or events, with a proven track record of growing active, thriving communities and organizing virtual and in-person events.
- You're equally comfortable planning long-term and switching into execution mode to get things done. You know how to measure impact for the community initiatives you're leading, and course correcting as needed.
- Communication is your strong suit. You're a strong writer, and a confident public speaker. You navigate language barriers with ease.
- You're incredibly organized, able to manage multiple projects without letting anything slip through the cracks, and possess a keen eye for detail.
