The Inventory Control & Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the inventory system and ensuring that stock levels are accurate and optimal. This role involves leading the buyer & warehousing teams to maintain inventory balance, minimize losses, and streamline inventory processes for the company.

JOB DUTIES
- Inventory Management: Develop and implement inventory control procedures to ensure optimal inventory levels and minimize discrepancies. Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
- System Oversight: Manage inventory management systems and ensure their accuracy and efficiency. Regularly review and update inventory data and procedures to reflect changes in demand and supply chain conditions. Manage additions to stock items to ensure conformity to nomenclature and standards.
- Data Analysis: Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast future needs, and generate reports on inventory performance. Use this information to make recommendations for process improvements.
- Stock Audits: Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure accuracy. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
- Supplier Management: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors. Evaluate and select suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery performance. Manage supplier performance and resolve any issues that arise. With the Quality Department, participate in required supplier audits and maintain approved vendor list for required items.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions. Ensure contracts are compliant with company policies and legal requirements.
- Process Improvement: Continuously review and improve inventory control processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve accuracy.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor inventory control staff, providing training and guidance as needed. Manage scheduling and performance evaluations for team members.
Supervisory Duties:
- Interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
- Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the department.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field with coursework in purchasing and/or inventory control management with five years of buying or purchasing experience or
- 10 years of experience in inventory control and/or purchasing in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- At the most 30% travel to visit vendors or different company locations.
- Experience with implementation of inventory management system preferred
- Proven negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to exercise tact, courtesy, and ethics when dealing with vendors, co-workers, and customers.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong ability to effectively train others.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, as well as inventory software.
- Acumatica experience preferred
- Strong understanding and knowledge of supply management and inventory management.
- Ability to manage staff
