We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Leader to manage inventory levels, oversee stock movement, and maintain accurate records for our warehouse. The Inventory Leader will play a vital role in optimizing inventory flow and ensuring efficient operations by monitoring inventory performance, assisting in process improvements, and conducting regular inventory cycle counts. This position works closely with purchasing, shipping/receiving, and other departments to ensure stock accuracy and availability.
Essential Functions:
The Inventory Control Leader is responsible for all assigned tasks relating to inventory control, including maintaining inventory counts and communicating inventory needs and status to Operations/Purchasing management. These duties are the following:
- The primary responsibility is to ensure our inventory value is accurate, complete, tracked, and adjusted with a high degree of precision and in compliance with both internal and external requirements.
- Review and submit new setup requests, as well as maintain a listing of active items in ERP.
- Be the primary point of contact for all inventory-related inquiries.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full inventory audits to ensure stock accuracy, reporting any inconsistencies or losses.
- Partner with Purchasing Manager year-end inventory duties.
- Conduct random quality assurance checks on incoming supplies.
- Assist with warehouse management activities related to inventory control.
- Track and manage inventory to maintain 100% accuracy.
- Cultivate and nurture strong relationships with external vendors and suppliers.
- Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment by preparing and distributing stock to meet demand and reduce back orders.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with production planning teams to align inventory levels with production schedules.
- Forklift certification management, compliance and training of all approved forklift drivers.
- Demonstrate ability to lead Material Handlers to meet daily goals Assists with other projects and performs other duties assigned, as needed.
- Working from computer generated work list, moves products and materials throughout the plant.
- Unloads raw materials received from vendors and loads finished products into semi-trailers for transport to customers as needed.
- Maintains good housekeeping standards.
- Keeps the aisles clean.
- Ensures parts are in appropriate place in racks.
- Ensures pallets are stored in a safe and orderly manner.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be physically capable of lifting 75 lbs.
- Ability to stand on your feet for 8 - 10 hours at a time.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to stand on your feet for 8 - 10 hours at a time.
- Must be comfortable performing repetitive tasks using arms and hands).
- Must be able to work in a loud and fast paced environment, make good judgements, and help when necessary.
- Ability to communicate with co-workers and understand written instructions.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Must be able to read and understand the U.S. measurement system to 1/32 of an inch.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- High Diploma and (2) years of experience in purchasing or similar role.
- Proficient in using ERP systems.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
- 1 year of previous production experience in Forklift driving and/or material handling
- Analytical, logical, and detailed oriented.
- Basic Math skills, including calculations using fractions, percent's and/or ratios, square feet calculations.
- Basic knowledge of accounting/bookkeeping principles, office management procedures, purchasing procedures and practices.
- Good oral and written communication. Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Effective time management.
- Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively
