SUMMARY
The role of Director, Human Resources Business Partner is a strategic role. The Director, HR Business Partner supports the Vice Presidents for assigned area. They work closely with the Business providing hands-on and strategic input, insight, and advice on people-related issues: talent management, employee relations, coaching/development, compensation, conflict management,
organizational development, and training. The Director, HR Business Partner plays an essential role in
establishing and driving HR programs/talent initiatives forward within their assigned area, while
always ensuring they align with the company's business objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Align the Human Resources Talent Agenda to the divisional operational agenda.
• Partners with Leadership in their assigned area to
provide HR guidance on people initiatives to the drive business.
• Act as a strategic thought partner to the divisional leadership.
• Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the Business and HR groups to
develop solutions, programs, and policies.
• Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough,
and objective investigations.
• Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management
of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the
legal department as needed/required.
• Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching,
counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
• Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build
morale, and increase productivity and retention.
• Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
• Works closely with Talent Development team to identify talent needs, including
recruiting, learning, performance management, and succession planning, developing
solutions and resources to address.
• Identifies training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
• Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows
up to ensure training objectives are met.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director, HR Business Partner manages an additional Business Partner.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 10 years of experience resolving employee relations issues. 3+ years of management experience.
• Deep knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines, including compensation
practices, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state
respective employment laws.
• Prior Workday experience preferred.
• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
