The San Francisco Film School is looking to hire a Full-time Controller. The Controller is a hands-on position that will lead all day-to-day accounting operations and will ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other financial systems. The Controller will have responsibility for all management reports including but not limited to budgets, cash flow management, forecasting, and external audits. The Controller will play a critical role in partnering with the senior management team in strategic decision-making and operations. The position is a hybrid position with (2) days at the San Francisco Film School's main office in downtown San Francisco and three (3) days working from home. Responsibilities: Accounting: • Responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank Recs, Journal Entries, Monthly & Year-End closing, ASC Lease 842 compliance, Depreciation & Amortization Schedules, Bi-Monthly Payroll, Independent Contractors posting & payments, and Student Ledgers posting, updates & reconciliations. Manage yearly Department of Education & third parties audits Human Resources: • Upload new employees & PTO tracking Management: • Budget Implementation and tracking, Cash flow management reports, and managing all 3rd party audits Qualifications: • A Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field • At least 5 years of professional experience in the full accounting cycle • Experience with QuickBooks Online, payroll systems (such as ADP, Paychex, and QuickBooks), accounts receivable, accounts payable, and Microsoft 365 application. • Proficiency in financial forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management • Understanding of US GAAP, especially as it relates to external audits • Knowledge of local, state, and federal reporting requirements Qualified Candidates Should Possess: • A Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business, or a related area. • Five or more years of professional knowledge in a complete accounting cycle • Expertise in QuickBooks Online, payroll platforms (e.g. ADP, Paychex, and QuickBooks), accounts receivable, accounts payable, and Microsoft applications • Competency in operations and management, financial forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management • An understanding of US GAAP, especially in external audits • Familiarity with local, state, and federal reporting standards Good to have: • Post-secondary education accounting experience • Financial Aid accounting experience • Veterans Administration accounting experience • Loans, Contracts & Lease negotiation experience • Business valuation & acquisition experience Compensation: $120,000 - $125,000 yearly

Compensation:
$120,000-$125,000 per year
