With over 120 years of manufacturing high-end, collector-quality, American-made furniture, and nearly as many years as a furniture retailer, L & J G Stickley, Inc., is the proud employer of almost 900 talented individuals. We have three manufacturing facilities and twelve company-owned retail Showrooms. We are seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our team, working from our Archdale, North Carolina manufacturing location, supporting that highly competent team and beyond.
As a Human Resources Manager, you will lead and implement our Human Resources strategy, manage employee relations and implement key projects at our Stickley Fine Upholstery (SFU) location, then growing to other locations. The Human Resources Manager will consult with top executives on strategic planning and serve as a link and partner with other managers and peers to support the business and transformation initiatives in organizational development, organizational planning, leadership development, succession planning and employee relations.

As a Human Resources Manager, you will lead and implement our Human Resources strategy, manage employee relations and implement key projects at our Stickley Fine Upholstery (SFU) location, then growing to other locations. The Human Resources Manager will consult with top executives on strategic planning and serve as a link and partner with other managers and peers to support the business and transformation initiatives in organizational development, organizational planning, leadership development, succession planning and employee relations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with stakeholders to provide HR support across key business operations
- Develop and implement workforce plans including recruiting and staffing strategies which optimize the organization's talent acquisition and retention
- Collaborate with managers, supervisors and HR team members to develop effective strategies across all elements of the HR function, including but not limited to recruitment, performance management, compensation, onboarding, employee relations, training programs and retention strategies
- Lead and implement projects under guidance of other senior HR team members
- Educate and implement company policies, procedures and practices
- Lead employee relation and communication activities which continues Stickley's strong, positive work environment
- Manage employee performance evaluation process, performance improvement plans, reward and recognition and disciplinary actions aimed at ensuring high performance and outcomes
- Analyze data/metrics aimed at improving both HR and business outcomes and recommendations of new approaches to improve results
- Coach and counsel Managers/Supervisors and employees
- Manage pay administration, benefit and leave of absence programs for employees and recruits
- Lead Occupational Health Nurse
- Streamline event planning and scheduling
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Business or Human Resources; and 7+ years of HR experience
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written and presentation); being bilingual or multilingual is a plus
- Possess excellent judgment, demonstrated ability to balance employee needs with needs of the organization
- Successfully work in a changing environment, balancing new and needed priorities with current workload
- Knowledge of Applicant Tracking, HRIS systems, Microsoft suite a must; PowerBI and AI skills a plus
- Knowledge of/Work in a lean manufacturing environment a plus
- Professional certification by either the Human resources Certification Institute (HRCI) or Society for Human resources Management (SHRM) strongly preferred
