DescriptionRobert Half is in search for a Director of Finance & Accounting.Essential functions and responsibilities:Job duties are included but not limited to:Accounting and Reporting:Prepare and analyze financial statements.Oversee all aspects of accounting operations.Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.Coordinate annual audits and tax filings with external auditors and tax advisors.Accounting Systems:Identify opportunities to automate and improve financial workflows, reducing manual effort and increasing accuracy.Proficiency in financial software and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems is essential. Experience with systems implementation, data analysis tools, and advanced Excel skills are critical for the position.Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of financial systems to streamline processes and enhance reporting capabilities.Significant experience in accounting with a focus on financial systems management and process improvement. Prior leadership experience is often necessary, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role.Perform accounting systems conversions and systems related problem solving.Protect information security of accounting documents and related communications.Risk Management:Implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks and safeguard the club's assets.Conduct risk assessments and assist in developing strategies to manage financial risks effectively.Stay abreast of changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to financial reporting.Financial Management:Assist in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for company's management.Monitor and report financial performance against budget and forecasts, identifying variances.Manage cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, banking transactions and other financial transactions.Conduct regular financial analysis to assess profitability, liquidity, and solvency.Team Leadership:Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the accounting department.Delegate tasks effectively to ensure efficient workflow and achievement of departmental objectivesPlease contact Daniel Mok via LinkedIn or Email with your updated resume for fastest consideration for this opportunity.RequirementsQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.Proven experience (5-10 years) in accounting and financial management, preferably in the hospitality or private club industry.In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.Proficiency in financial management software and MS Office suite; ADP (Payroll and HR Software); experience with club management software is a plus.Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of leading high-performing teams and driving results outFlexible schedule required.
