Gastroenterologists - VAMC, Shreveport, LAMust have BLS & ACLSBoard Certified or Board Eligible Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., with a hour lunch; Monday through Friday on-call, 4:30 p.m.- 8:00 a.m. two weekend Saturday, Sundays and Federal Holidays. On-Call frequency: One week of call; every other week to every third week. 104 days of coverage in 24-hour blocks on Sunday - Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.Clinic and Surgical Care: Contractors physician (s shall provide clinical Gastroenterology services. Contractors physician (s) shall be present on time for any scheduled clinics/surgeries as documented by physical presence in the clinic or operating room at the scheduled start time.Operative Services: Contractors physician (s) shall provide comprehensive clinical gastroenterology services including the full range of colonoscopy and Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) procedures such as:ColonoscopyColonoscopy via colostomyColonoscopy w/biopsy(ies)Colonoscopy w/ablation of tumor/polyp/lesionColonoscopy w/removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by hot forcepColonoscopy w/removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by snare techniqueColonoscopy w/out biopsyColonoscopy w/ submucosalEsophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)EGD diagnosticEGD w/biopsy(ies)EGD w/removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by hot forcepEGD w/removal of tumor/polyp/lesion by snare techniqueContractors physician (s) shall provide consultative services at the patients bedside if the patient is not ambulatory and in the clinic setting if the patient is able to report to the outpatient clinic. Procedures shall be scheduled for completion within 30 days of the date of the consult.Medications: Contractors physician(s) shall follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients.Discharge education: Contractors physician(s) shall provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all Gastroenterology clinical or surgical patients
