About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Development to lead its major gifts team. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategically cultivating donor relationships, guiding donor strategies, and ensuring the stewardship of gifts to inspire future philanthropy. This role requires a mission-first mindset, a commitment to the health and well-being of children and mothers, and the ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders. The Executive Director will also be involved in organizational leadership, engaging with volunteer committees, and leading team and foundation-wide projects. The position demands a high level of adaptability, strong organizational skills, and a proven track record in fundraising, particularly in the areas of individual philanthropy and complex giving structures. Candidates for the Executive Director of Development position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree, with a preference for a graduate degree, and at least 10 years of related fundraising experience. The ideal candidate will have a background in academic medicine or a similar complex research organization, and experience in a leadership role with a focus on major and principal gifts. The role requires a deep understanding of the philanthropic process, the ability to lead and coach a team of fundraisers, and a proven track record of successful fundraising. Knowledge of the philanthropic community in the region is desired. The Executive Director must be a strong leader, collaborative, and possess the ability to make sound judgments and operate with a high level of professionalism.
