Tredegar Surface Protection has an exciting opportunity for a Plant Engineer to join our Production/Manufacturing Team!
As an integral member of our team, the Plant Engineer provides technical assistance to operations and maintenance in order to troubleshoot and repair operational problems, install new process equipment, modify existing process conditions or equipment. The Plant Engineer is responsible for the efficient and safe functioning of the plant's production equipment. May function as project manager for plant capital and expense projects. Maintains relationships with key equipment suppliers to promote continuous improvement activities. Performs other duties as required to promote overall plant effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Bachelor degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred with 3-5 years relevant experience. Experience in manufacturing environment and CAD software experience preferred.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drives continuous process improvements as related to optimizing equipment efficiency and reliability.
- Act as key liaison between Maintenance, Process Engineering and Operations to drive focused improvements to planned maintenance activities.
- Assists the Plant Engineering and Maintenance Manager in developing the capital plan for the plant. Manage capital projects as assigned and oversee execution of projects within budget and time schedule.
- Responsible for decision making and expected to make recommendations on projects to improve manufacturing process by increasing output, improving quality, improving yield, reducing cost and improve product performance based on data analysis.
- Provide problem-solving expertise on non-routine issues related to process, production and quality for existing and new products.
- Develop, report and share Root Cause - Corrective Action plans for significant equipment issues.
- Assist maintenance/technical in trouble shooting difficult equipment problems.
- Review current processes and equipment and make recommendations on equipment operation and upgrades.
- Data analysis and reporting on key metrics.
- Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for customer claims.
- Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring adherence to safety standards.
