The Leidos team supporting the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Energy, Installations, and Environment (SAF/IE) has an opening for a Planning & Policy Analyst at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. The position is primarily telework with 3-4 visits to the Pentagon each month.
The position entails providing planning expertise and programmatic support to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Installations and requires an understanding of Air Force Planning and the organizational structure of the Department of Defense.

The position entails providing planning expertise and programmatic support to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Installations and requires an understanding of Air Force Planning and the organizational structure of the Department of Defense.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide planning and real property expertise to support Department of Air Force infrastructure reduction initiatives.
- Preparing staff packages and products (e.g., staff summary sheets, presentations, spreadsheets, correspondence, background papers, talking papers, and white papers, etc.) for Senior Executive Service or General Officer, and Presidential Appointee-level audiences.
- Arranging and participating in working groups, forums, and collaborative events while working with OSD, Joint Staff, other Service staff(s), HAF directorate(s), MAJCOM(s), Center(s), and other government offices and agencies to respond to queries, requests for information, and other support for SAF/IEI's Installation Planning division.
- Develop cost estimates for various "what-if" scenarios such as relocating missions, consolidating force structure, and reducing infrastructure.
- Additional duties as required.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors' Degree with minimum 10 years of applicable experience of applicable experience as an analyst or program manager in a Headquarters Air Force or DoD-level program
- DoD Secret clearance
- Experience working with the Department of Defense
- Experience in the development and implementation of Department of Defense policy
- Experience providing Subject Matter Expertise in Installation Planning to DoD
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the Air Force's Task Management Tool (TMT).
- Experience authoring professional communications to Congress and governmental agencies.
- Planning experience supporting Headquarters Air Force, Air Staff, Space Force, AFIMSC, and/or AFCEC.
