Description
Leidos is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to provide engineering oversight of TPS prototype production as member of the Advanced Materials Department of the Hypersonic Systems Division. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
As an integral member of the TPS production team, the successful candidate will serve as a mechanical engineering supporting TPS production and improving current production processes with a complex, diverse, multi-organization team. This position will be responsible for production tooling design improvements, preparing first article plans and reports, dispositioning NCR's related to production, and interfacing with material suppliers. This role with work closely with the quality team to provide product assurance to technical requirements. The role will also involve collaboration with a diverse group of subcontracted team members, interactions with multiple government organization as part of a "badge-less" team, several geographically dispersed places of performance, and a complex multi-agency customer set including AvMC, Sandia National Labs, Navy, and Army.
Basic Qualifications
Pay Range: Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00

Basic Qualifications
- Candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of 4 years of applicable experience
- Willingness to travel up to 30%
- Strong verbal and written skills along with a solid, practical knowledge of high temperature materials and/or composite materials
- Ability to attain and maintain a DOD Secret security clearance
- MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering desired
- Experience working in Costpoint
- Skilled in SolidWorks
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
- Experience with GD&T
