Leidos Defense Systems., is seeking a talented Mid Level Mechanical Engineer for its hypersonics line of business. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. The selected candidate will support the Common Hypersonic Glide Body program (C-HGB). The C-HGB is the Army's #1 priority for strategic weapons capability for long-range precision fires and will counter and gain a lead on our adversaries' technological advances in this field, come join us in this exciting, cutting-edge field.
Primary Responsibilities
The selected candidate will serve as a Mid Level Mechanical Engineer with a primary duty of creating technical data package artifacts (drawings and documents) as well as involvement in production activities. Additional responsibilities are creation of Bill of Materials, implementation of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, and being closely involved with production activities. The individual must be a self-starter with excellent communication and organization, contribute to inter-disciplinary teams to solving challenging technical problems, and understand various manufacturing processes.

Pay Range: Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors' Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited school with 4-8 years of experience.
- Proficient in CAD software (Creo, Catia, AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Understanding of applicable concepts from engineering specifications and drawing structure.
- Independently applies GD&T methods and tolerance stackups on parts and assemblies.
- Works within integrated teams supporting drawing modification and production activities.
- Resolves issues with lower-level engineers.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within the organization.
- Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance (US Citizenship required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior work in DoD Missile, Reentry Vehicle, or Hypersonics fields.
- Prior work creating engineering drawings using PTC Creo and Windchill.
- Understanding of cost and schedule implications of typical engineering deliverables.
- Experience working rapidly changing development programs.
