People Matters HR consulting and services firm is looking for an HR Consultant to join our growing firm in the Lansing, MI area. What We Get to Do

Our HR Consultants advise our clients on a wide array of issues and also perform practitioner functions, so there is plenty of variety. For example:
  • Recruiting and interviewing employees
  • Coaching and advising client managers and employees
  • Creating start-up HR departments
  • Providing day-to-day HR services
  • Conducting HR audits
  • Writing policies and procedures
  • Conducting workplace investigations
  • Performing compensation and benefit analysis
  • Drafting employee communications
  • Facilitating training programs
  • Drafting and maintaining HR documentation
  • Etc., etc., etc.!

What Our HR Consultants Need

Our clients rely on us to know our stuff. Our experience tells us that to make it at the consultant level, it takes:
  • A minimum of 7 years of HR experience
  • Experience in a broad range of HR disciplines such as talent acquisition, total rewards, employee relations, performance management, and compliance
  • Experience working with company staff sizes under and over 50 employees
  • Experience in a variety of organizations and industries
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • ATS and HRIS experience
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or closely related discipline or equivalent experience
  • HR professional certification helpful
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal employment regulations and trends
