Your Opportunity
Stantec is looking for a Transportation/Engineer Modeler with minimum of 5 years of transportation engineering or planning experience to join our multidisciplinary team based in the US, preferably in New York City NY, Portland OR, or West Chester, PA offices. We believe training, collaboration, and connections are strengthened by working alongside team members. This is a hybrid position with flexibility.

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.

Your Opportunity
Stantec is looking for a Transportation/Engineer Modeler with minimum of 5 years of transportation engineering or planning experience to join our multidisciplinary team based in the US, preferably in New York City NY, Portland OR, or West Chester, PA offices. Your Key Responsibilities
- Performing transportation planning studies, traffic impact studies, traffic operations analysis, speed studies, and toll road feasibility studies.
- Executing travel demand models (specifically in EMME), including model preparation and analysis of results.
- Conduct microsimulation modeling, mesoscopic modeling, dynamic traffic assignments.
- Assisting with traffic data collection and data analysis.
- Writing draft technical memoranda and reports.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Understanding of fundamentals in travel demand modeling including advanced practices
- Ability to use large passive data to understand and model travel behavior
- Experience working with activity-based and trip-based travel demand forecasting models.
- Proficiency with travel demand modeling tools like EMME, Cube, TransCAD is desired. Experience with EMME will be strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to interpret technical findings and share them with general audiences.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with large databases, dashboard development, and related software (Power BI, Tableau, MySQL) is a plus.
- Experience with computer programming (such as C, Java, and Python)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to work on multiple assignments concurrently.
- Strong familiarity with standard business software (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Experience with GIS software is a plus.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Transportation Planning, City and Regional Planning, Operations Research, or related discipline
- A masters' degree is preferred but not required.
- 5 years' work experience in transportation engineering, modeling or planning
