Civil Project Manager/Estimator

The Civil Project Manager/Estimator leads the project team in the planning and execution of heavy civil construction projects. Projects primarily include mass excavation, grading, underground utilities, and other scope as the project requires.

They will work closely with the customer, engineers, construction managers and Beaver project personnel. In addition, this role supervises and trains project engineers and other related project staff.

They create clear project objectives while keeping a focus on quality, cost, and time. This role advocates a teamwork approach and keeps the lines of communication open to ensure the best possible outcome for the customer.

Main Job Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in job site safety.
  • Business Development.
  • Estimating and bidding.
  • Manage contracts for awarded projects.
  • Develop and communicate work plans to the field.
  • Develop and maintain the project schedule.
  • Assist with managing subcontractors.
  • Maintain project quality and conformance.
  • Change management.
  • Project cost management.

Skills & Requirements
  • Experience and understanding of civil construction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Competent use of MS Office and construction software.


Travel
  • Ability and willingness to travel overnight as required.


Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent required; equivalent field experience will be considered
  • 5 years' experience in the civil construction industry.
