Position Summary:

The Mechanical Assembler position will be responsible for working as part of a team and individually to perform a variety of assembly tasks proficiently and efficiently. Assembles fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy subassemblies and complete units. Layout and construct various product assemblies with minimum supervision according to blueprints or specifications, using a variety of portable or hand tools. Uses knowledge of commonly used assembly concepts, practices, and procedures.

Day in the Life:
  • Work as part of a production team to assemble forklifts
  • Close tolerance hand work and ability to diagnose improper mechanical assembly or operation
  • Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, instructions, diagrams, engineering drawings, and other written instructions or procedures
  • Assembly of sheet metal, mechanical components, hydraulic equipment, electrical components, pump assembly, etc.
  • Inspect and test assembled parts and equipment for fit, performance, and compliance
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Utilize various hand-held tools such as pneumatic and battery-operated impact or drill guns.
  • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
  • Assists in developing proper methods and optimum operation layout.
  • Assist engineering with root cause analysis and problem solving.
  • Assists in the design and building of tools and equipment or recommends improvements to existing processes.
  • Optimizes resources (manpower, equipment and materials) to ensure efficient and timely completion of work.
What you need to apply:
  • At least 2 years of mechanical assembly experience or relevant experience preferred
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems assembly tasks
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and assembly drawings
  • Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
  • Specific vision abilities required; close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to communicate effectively, including the ability to read, write, and speak English clearly
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening
