Director, Physician Outreach and Business Development

Responsible for providing leadership to the physician outreach and business development liaison team for Physician Services. Collaborates directly with the System VP, Provider Recruitment and Practice Acquisition, administrators and service line directors to identify business development targets and opportunities. Supervises outpatient project evaluations, planning and implementation in alignment with key growth and business development initiatives.

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
  • Required Travel: travel to other Endeavor Health locations will be required


What you will do:
  • Direct outreach activities for the health system territories. Oversee coordination and implementation of service line directed initiatives to drive business growth in alignment with system goals.
  • Educates providers throughout the market on the value proposition of Endeavor Health. Supports the promotion and utilization of clinical service lines. Provides feedback to leadership on access issues.
  • Develop and oversee process for orientation and training of new liaisons. Initiate structured meet and greets / shadowing opportunities with key leaders and departments with transition to field exposure and territory exploration. Provide ongoing direction and evaluation for areas of focus and improvement.
  • Develop annual budget for outreach activities. Oversee documentation of physician expenditures for regulatory compliance. Administer and monitor expenditures and implement corrective action to resolve budget variance.
  • Responsible for regular review and data analysis of physician referral patterns / outpatient business to identify and prioritize opportunities for growth in each territory. Oversee maintenance of target list based on identified opportunities and system initiatives for each territory.
  • Supports collaboration with IT project management team for system improvement and expansion of EpicCare Link initiative to provide system access to referring providers
  • Collaborate with ISS project management team for sales and contracting with independent provider practices for Community Connect as program expands.
  • Analyze and monitor outpatient business physician referral patterns and volume trends to identify and prioritize business opportunities across the system for the advancement of system business goals.
  • Collaborate with VP, Provider Recruitment and Practice Acquisition and Medical Group leadership to identify, initiate and facilitate practice acquisition discussions in alignment with the network ambulatory development strategy
  • Support educational opportunities / programs for ambulatory office staff as necessary to create awareness of service lines, hospital/ system initiatives, changes in healthcare landscape
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Brand Team to develop ancillary materials needed to be used in field to support outreach goals and initiatives.


What you will need:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree, required. Master's degree, preferred; preferably in Nursing, Business Administration or Marketing/Sales
  • Certification: n/a
  • Experience:
    • 7+ years of experience in a leadership sales and/or business development role.
    • 3+ experience in healthcare industry preferably in a hospital, clinic or healthcare organization setting.
  • Unique or Preferred Skills:
    • Clinical nursing or medical sales experience coupled with a physician relations/business development background preferred
    • Ability to develop strategies, plan marketing tactics and implement tactics in a highly competitive marketplace required.
