Our client is looking for a Controller to oversee and manage the financial activities of their company, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial information, and maintaining effective financial controls. The Controller will manage the accounting operations, financial reporting,  and internal audits to support the company's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements.
    • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports for senior management and external stakeholders.
  2. Accounting Operations:

    • Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
    • Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing leadership and guidance in day-to-day tasks.
    • Ensure proper documentation and adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
  3. Internal Controls & Compliance:

    • Design, implement, and maintain a robust system of internal controls to safeguard company assets.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, including tax compliance, audits, and reporting.
    • Coordinate and oversee internal and external audits, including providing necessary documentation and addressing audit findings.
  4. Cash Management:

    • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure the company has the necessary funds to meet operational needs.
    • Develop and manage cash flow forecasting, ensuring cash availability and optimizing working capital.
  5. Tax Compliance:

    • Oversee the preparation and filing of corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
    • Coordinate tax planning and research opportunities for tax minimization.
  6. Process Improvement:

    • Evaluate and recommend improvements to accounting and financial systems, processes, and controls.
    • Leverage financial software and automation tools to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
  7. Strategic Planning Support:

    • Partner with senior leadership in strategic planning by providing financial insights and analysis.
    • Assist in mergers, acquisitions, and other business initiatives, providing financial due diligence and integration support.
Qualifications:
  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
    • CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • Experience:

    • Public accounting experience is a large plus
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting and finance, including at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role.
