We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and experienced paralegal to play an important role on our legal team. You'll draft legal documents such as affidavits, prepare briefs, conduct legal research for trial preparation, and keep case files and other important information neatly organized and easily accessible. Responsibilities: • Perform administrative duties such as answering phone calls and keeping our case filing system organized so all documents are readily accessible • Aid lawyers in trial preparation by preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, conducting research on legal articles, and assisting with client meetings and filing motions • Gather information about legal issues from the client in interviews • Draft legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits under the guidance of a lawyer • Draft subpoenas and coordinate with process servers • Assist lawyers in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence, including subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, and legal briefs • Support trial preparation by organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and conducting legal research • Manage law office activities such as drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers • Perform administrative duties, including answering phone calls and maintaining an organized case filing system • Conduct client interviews to gather information about legal matters Qualifications: • Candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have advanced paralegal education will receive preference • Candidates must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree preferred • 3+ years as a Family Law Paralegal in the state of Texas (non-negotiable) • Ideally, candidates should hold a Paralegal professional certification or have advanced paralegal education (preferred) • Applicants must be able to provide proof of possessing a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintaining automobile insurance • Clear, concise, and effective communication skills, coupled with a positive attitude, are essential qualities for this role • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email is a must, with familiarity in legal software is a must • Strong organizational and time-management skills are crucial for success in this position • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as proficiency in writing and grammar, are fundamental requirements for this role Compensation: $28 - $30 hourly
