About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to lead and oversee all fund accounting and financial reporting functions. The CAO will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the accounting department, establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, and ensuring accurate financial information is provided to senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies. This role also involves vendor and resource management, infrastructure development, and maintaining financial accounting systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in strategic financial planning, budgeting, and will be expected to lead audits, and ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant financial regulations. Applicants for the Chief Accounting Officer position at the company must have a minimum of 15 years of experience in fund accounting or management company accounting, with a background in a direct buy-side or fund environment. A CPA qualification is mandatory. The role requires a hands-on approach, with the CAO expected to be in the office at least 3 times a week. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical accounting background, the ability to research and resolve complex accounting issues, and experience in leading and managing a team of accounting professionals.
