Our Headquarters office in Virginia Beach, VA is searching for a highly skilled and knowledgeable Assembler. General Description: Produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies. Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathers parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. Documents actions by completing production and quality forms. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Work and collaborate in a team environment with very limited or no supervision Mentor and lead junior team members by example Read and understand production documents and safety manuals Demonstrate positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team Make every effort to increase productivity and efficiency without compromising quality Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with internal and external procedures, rules, and regulations Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude Current DoD security clearance, or ability to acquire and maintain a DoD security clearance, may be required. Work Experience Requirements: 4+ years progressive experience working as an assembler utilizing drawings, wire lists, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and reports, as well as a variety of tools in accordance with technical data package and work instructions; performing point to point wiring, building various cables and assemblies, quality inspections, testing, and troubleshooting. Educational Requirements (or equivalent): High School - Electronics experience/training and/or WHMA/IPC-A-620, IPC-A-610, and IPC-J-STD-001 certified. Working Conditions: 40 hours weekly. Work is typically performed in a production, repair or manufacturing environment. While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands and to reach with hands and arms. Work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment and light lifting less than 50 lbs. While performing duties of this job the employee may be exposed to a warehouse environment and should exercise suitable safety precautions. Ability to assemble electro-mechanical assemblie , electrical enclosures, cables, and wire harnesses using a variety of tools including, but not limited to crimpers, wire strippers, soldering irons, and multimeters in accordance with technical data package, work instructions (written or verbal), and industry standards Skills and ability to perform point to point wiring and equipment installs for commercial and ruggedized enclosures while employing proper cable grooming techniques Read, comprehend, and interpret drawings, wire lists, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders and reports. Ability to build, test, and install CAT5/5e/6, fiber, coax, shielded wires, and solder splices Ability to mentor and train others in essential job functions, company processes, and policies Ability to troubleshoot and/or test wiring, subassembly, and other electronic equipment Perform basic technical documentation including creating redlines and work instructions Experience leading projects Leadership skills - active listening, strategic thinking skills, creativity, flexibility, the ability to inspire and convince others, empathy, the ability to share clear messages and make complex ideas easy to understand. Beneficial Skills/Experience: Updating, loading, and verifying software/firmware. Configuring processing, storage, and networking equipment. Fiber Optics experience Assembly or Repair experience Material Management/Logistics experience WHMA/IPC-A-620, IPC-A-610, and IPC-J-STD-001 certification or ability to obtain certifications Pursuant to our contracts with the federal government, U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
