Embedded within Apple’s Security Engineering & Architecture organization, this role is on an engineering team that builds security infrastructure into Apple’s production build system and provides security engineering expertise and leadership across Apple to create security controls, observability, detections, responses, and workflows.DescriptionOur team cares deeply about providing Apple’s customers with the highest standard in security and privacy on our products. We design and build software that implements security features into Apple’s build systems that affect the software that is shipped to Apple’s customers. In addition to writing software, we perform security analysis on these internal systems to assess threats and security risks. Ultimately, our mission is to protect the security and privacy for our customers’ 1B+ devices. Here are examples of the kinds of projects you will be working on with us: - Implement an identity-aware access proxy for internal service to service communication - Evangelize and drive the adoption of these technologies across the organization - Build tools and integrations for 10k developers to easily sign code and code reviewsMinimum QualificationsBS/MS in Computer Science or 5+ years equivalent experienceAbility to demonstrate strong problem solving and logic in backend programmingExperienced with building cloud services and distributed systems at scaleDemonstrated end-to-end ownership of cross-organizational projectsPreferred QualificationsExcellent Swift, Objective-C, or Go programming skillsExperience with high-availability operations management, including deployment automation and rollback strategiesFamiliarity with security architecture design and reviewEffective communication of complex technical conceptsTrack record of shipping customer-facing services or products5+ years of experience with cross-functional technical leadershipPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
