ECS is seeking a Platform Engineering Manager to work in our Fairfax, VA office (hybrid). Job Description:ECS is seeking talented professionals who love a challenge to join us in building the next-generation Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Cyber data solution. The CDM Program is the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) dynamic approach to strengthening the cybersecurity of Federal networks and systems through better awareness and visibility into their security posture and cyber threats. ECS is responsible for designing, building, deploying, operating, and maintaining a complete ‘Data Services’ solution which includes the collection, normalization, visualization, and sharing of cyber data from more than 100 Federal agencies. The CDM Data Services product is a cloud-hosted solution comprised of multiple Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS), software configuration packages, and custom code which work together to operate as an integrated solution tailored to meet Department of Homeland Security (DHS) requirements. ECS is seeking an Engineering Manager to drive architecting, deployment, configuration, and sustainment of numerous instances of CAASM (Cyber Asset Attack Surface Management) platforms including Armis and Axonius. This role is expected to be a SME in technologies for collecting asset data and entails working with customers to create complete inventories of assets, identify coverage and configuration gaps, and automate tagging, policy enforcement, and other actions.The successful candidate will be proactive and able to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve objectives across a wide customer base. They will drive design and best practices in implementation across the program, and will lead recruitment, training, management, and retainment of a team of senior to junior level engineers. Primary duties include:Working with the team to architect, secure, configure, integrate, and maintain quality support of Armis and Axonius solutions that support production and non-production workloads.Working closely with architects, engineers, and integrators to assess customer requirements and to design and support Armis and Axonius configurations in compliance with CDM data requirements.Following life cycle processes to move configurations from Dev to Test to Pre-Staging to Production.Installing and configuring platform components in non-production and production environments and configuring integrations to collect asset data from cyber tools, sensors, and other sources.Designing and implementing configurations to support asset tagging.Documenting the installation and configuration for production deployments.Securing the solution using TLS, certificates, SSO/PIV authentication, and encryption technologies.Designing and implementing data lifecycle management strategies.Testing data flows, troubleshooting issues, and monitoring the health of the solution and servers to maximize performance and minimize downtime.Working with Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to design and implement logging and monitoring solutions to ensure continuous operations.Participating in group sessions with both internal development teams and the OEM vendor to ensure the solution development meets project and customer requirements.Serving as a trusted advisor, providing subject matter expertise, guidance, and best practice recommendations.Required Skills:US citizenship with ability to obtain Public Trust Suitability.10+ years designing and implementing technical solutions, at least 3 of which are in a lead technical delivery role.4+ years deploying, hosting, monitoring, and securing solutions in a cloud environment for Government customers, preferably AWS GovCloud.2+ years architecting, implementing, integrating, and managing COTS products in a production environment (Axonius/Armis preferred).2+ years experience with data ingest and Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) techniques using COTS Products (Axonius/Armis preferred).2+ years experience supervising and leading others, preferably a team of 5 or more.Excellent communication and relationship skills to articulate technical topics and build consensus among stakeholders.Desired Skills:1+ years hands-on experience managing the Axonius or Armis platform.Bachelor's Degree.Experience with CDM tools and agencies, including CDM tools and the role they play in government environments.Experience leading the execution of FISMA related programs across large and complex multi-agency environments.Experience supporting large federal programs ($200M+).Experience and proficiency working within the Software Development Life Cycle and working knowledge of various methodologies/frameworks such as SAFe Agile.Experience recruiting, developing, and managing employees as a line manager.ECS is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate or allow discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, genetic information, registered domestic partner status, marital status, status as a crime victim, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
